PTA President’s Message
Happy New Year everyone! It’s hard to believe the first semester is behind us and we are into the second half of the school year. Thank you to everyone who made our first two quarters successful. A spe-cial thanks to our teachers, staff and especially Ms. Kennedy and Mr. Branson for keeping everything running smoothly during Mr. Hatch’s absence.
Our Book Fair in December at Barnes and Noble was once again a success. Thank you to everyone that came out to support the book fair by purchasing books for your friends, family, and/or your class-room teachers, and a special thanks to Kelly Wagner for all of her hard work!
On December 14th we held our annual luncheon for our teachers and staff, organized by Joelle Ando and Angela Williams (our awesome Hospitality committee) – thank you for doing such a great job! This event was also made possible by all the parents that sent in desserts, help set up, clean up, serve the food and supervise the students dur-ing their black top time as well as the restaurants that donated food – thank you to all. This was a nice break for the teachers and they were very appreciative.
We had a great turnout for the PTA Reflections contest. Roland-Grise had several students win at the county level – way to go! Thank you to all the teachers and parents that encouraged the stu-dents to enter the reflections contest. Congratulations to everyone who participated! A huge thank you to our Reflections committee, Julie Oliver and Amy Damutz for all of the endless hours and hard work they put into making this year’s Reflections Contest a success here at Roland-Grise.
Our PTA nominating committee will soon be putting together a slate of candidates for next year’s PTA board. If you are interested or know someone that would be a perfect fit, please let one of our cur-rent board members know. This is a great way to get involved and make a difference in the lives of your children!
Please join us for our next PTA General meeting on March 11th at 7:00pm - it will be one you won’t want to miss. We are planning a fun event for the evening – more info to come!
