Patriot Kid Vacation Story

Kevin and Sarah Traveled With Liberty to Boston

LibertyLiberty by the libraryKevin and Sarah traveled with Liberty to Boston, MA over President's Day weekend. We flew into Logan Airport and the first thing we saw was the Green Monster at Fenway Park. Liberty knows it is the home of the Boston Red Sox.

We drove to our cousins' house in Franklin, MA. The town is named after Benjamin Franklin. He brought books to the town's people and started the first public library in 1790. Liberty loved seeing the library. Franklin also has the oldest school still being used in the whole country. It is a tiny red school house that has one kindergarten class this year.

Liberty at museumLIberty taking a rideOne day, we went to the Boston Museum of Science. There lots of cool hands-on exhibits. We were able to do experiments and fun activities. We touched a real pig's heart and lungs. We saw baby chicks hatching. There was also an awesome 3-D movie about sharks. Sarah was doing an experiment about motion and momentum and Liberty took a ride!

We also took Liberty ice skating. Some fun things we did with our cousins were watching Kelly run in her high school track meet and seeing Eric's hockey games. They have hockey as a sport in their schools but no swim team.

Kevin and Sarah both agreed that the most fun was tubing in the snow. Lots of families in the neighborhood have made their own ice rinks in their backyards!

Liberty loved to see New England but was happy to be back in Wilmington.
