Parsley Elementary welcomes visitors to our school. Volunteers are a valuable asset and contribute to the success of our instructional program. Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their child(ren) and are often invited to view special programs.

As the safety of our students is our number one priority, it is required that all visitors to our school follow these rules immediately upon entering the campus:

1. Go directly to the office.

2. If you are staying at the school for any length of time, even for just a few minutes, you must sign in. Located in the office is both a Visitor's and Volunteer's Log where you record the reason for your visit. Remember to also sign out in the office before the leaving the school.

3. Put on a Parsley Visitor's sticker and wear it in a conspicuous place during your entire visit to Parsley.

Established volunteers may be issued a Volunteer button (right) that should be worn while volunteering.

It is imperative that ALL visitors to our school sign in at the office. This is our only way to ensure that every visitor to our building is accounted for. This will assist us in locating you should the need arise. Wearing a visible Visitor sticker will alert our staff that you have checked in and are welcomed. If you are not wearing a Visitor sticker or Volunteer button, don't be annoyed if you are stopped by a staff member and are directed or escorted to the office to get one. This is for the safety of all our students.

Instructional time is valuable. In an effort to minimize interruptions to the classroom, we request that you do not visit your child's class without prior notice. If you would like a tour of the school, please make an appointment with the administrative staff.

Dropping off an item for your child? Please bring the item to the office and we will see that it is delivered to your child. Please do not take the item to the classroom. Lunches will be delivered to the cafeteria. Students will pick up lunches from a table as they enter the cafeteria.

Picking up your child early? Come to the office before 2:00 p.m. and we will call for him/her to come to you. Early dismissal cannot be accommodated after 2:00 p.m. Proper identification is required.

In these two cases, you do not need to sign in or obtain a Visitor's sticker but should remain in the office until your business has been completed.

Waiting to pick up your child(ren) at the end of the school day? If you are picking up your child and are not staying in your vehicle in the pickup lane, it is necessary for you to park your car in the parking lot and then wait for him/her outside the school building. You may choose to wait under the covered walkway outside the front of the building. To maximize the safety of our students and minimize congestion in the halls, please do not proceed into the building.
