1. Civitan Scholarships –  Several awards given to NH County seniors ranging from $1000 to $2500.   Based on essay, transcript, extracurricular involvement, and having some need.  Can be used at any college.  Completed applications are due to your counselor by April 5th. 
   
2. Martha Huffine (PTA scholarship) – Applicant must be a PTA member, have at least a 3.0 GPA, have some need, and volunteer at least 3 hours with the PTA.  One $1000 award and one $500 award.  March 26 deadline; see your counselor for application.
   
3. NH County School Nutrition Assoc. Scholarship – For a child or grandchild of a member of the above named association.  Must apply before spring break.  Two awards worth $750 each.  See your counselor for application.
   
4. NC Assoc. of Educational Office Professionals – $1000 to a local senior.  April 1 deadline.  Based on essay, need, transcript and 3 letters of recommendation.  See your counselor for application.
   
5. Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship – Kids 6 – 18 can be recognized for their outstanding volunteer work.  To nominate, go to www.kohlskids.com before March 15th.
   
6. Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year –  For outstanding student-athletes.  Students can be nominated by faculty, parents, or relatives.  Based on academics, athletics, leadership, and community service.  Go to www.bodybymilk.com for more info.  March 5 deadline. 
   
7. FAFSA Day – Need help with your financial aid form?  On 2/13, Saturday,  FAFSA Day will be held at UNCW.  To register call 1-866-866-CFNC or go to www.cfnc.org/fafsaday. 
   
8. Financial Aid Info Session – Feb 9th –        6:00 pm –      Downtown Library

9. Prospective Teacher Scholarship Loan – April 15 deadline.  Go to www.cfnc.org/ptsl for more info.
   
10. Nurse Scholar/Loan Program – go to www.cfnc.org/nsp and www.cfnc.org/neslp for more info.  Feb. 28 deadline.
    
11. NC Student Loan for Health, Science and Math – $2000 to $5000. Apply at www.cfnc.org/hsm.  June 1st deadline.
