Date:                  February 1, 2010
From:       Dan Schmidt, AP Coordinator
                  Susan Sellars, Counseling Assistant

AP Students:  Share this information with your parents!!

    • Each student should get this sheet and a Bulletin for AP Students and Parents.
    • Read over the AP bulletin and check the calendar on the back for your exam dates.
    • Students are strongly encouraged to take the AP exam.  College credit can only be granted if the AP exam is taken.
    • Each exam costs $86.  Students must bring their checks, made out to NHHS, to their teachers by Monday, March 15.  Student’s names and the name of the courses should be written on the check.  Teachers turn checks in to Ms. Sellars.  She will issue receipts for the teachers to forward to students.  Teachers, please turn in checks to Ms. Sellars on a daily basis.  Encourage students to bring checks in ASAP and not to wait until March 15.
    • Some students may be eligible for a fee waiver.  Students on Free or Reduced Lunch are eligible.  Students requesting a fee waiver need to see Mr. Schmidt by March 1.  Mr. Schmidt can be reached at 251-6100 x 214 or at daniel.schmidt@nhcs.net
    • Students requesting testing accommodations, (extended time, separate setting) should see Ms. Wall in room 210 by February 12.  Students must have an IEP or 504 plan in place.
    • Look over test dates.  Students with a conflict should see Mr. Schmidt ASAP to look into late testing.  Early testing is not an option.  Students need to take the test at the designated times unless it is unavoidable.
    • Most of the tests will be at the Princess St. Gym.  Students need to report by 7:45 am for morning exams, 12:00 noon for Statistics and European History.
Students should park in the student parking lot by the tennis courts.
    • Environmental Science and Chemistry are scheduled for the same day and time.  Therefore we will postpone the Chemistry exam until Thursday, May 20 at noon.
    • Students will be excused from all classes on the day of their AP Exam.
