PreACT/ACT Information

To: Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Please be advised that all high school sophomores in NC are required to take the Pre-ACT as part of NC's College and Career Readiness Plan. Because it is required for all 10th graders, New Hanover High School registers the students to take the test and the state of NC pays for students to take the test. Parents or students do not have to register or pay to take the Pre-ACT. The Pre-ACT will be administered at New Hanover High School to all sophomores on Wednesday, November 8th. Sophomores MUST take the Pre-ACT on this date at New Hanover. The Pre-ACT is only given one time a year. 

 


All high school juniors are required to take the ACT as a part of NC's College and Career Readiness Plan. Because it is required for all 11th graders, New Hanover High School registers the students to take the test and the state of NC pays for students to take the test. Parents or students do not have to register or pay to take the ACT. The ACT will be administered at New Hanover High School to all juniors on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Juniors MUST take the ACT on this date at New Hanover.

To prepare for the test, students may practice at ACT TEST PREPARATION

 


Finally, the county is offering an Informational Session on the ACT on November 16, 2017 from 6pm-7pm at Roland Grise Middle School.
