2015 New Hanover County Board of Education
Choice Art Awards.
Congratulations to Brian Jones and all the students in ROCAME who competed in the Rocame Jamboree this weekend. Our students did very well, placing in 5 out of 6 events. Two 1st place, two 3rd place, first place Quiz Bowl, and tied for overall first place in New Hanover and Brunswick County. Go FALCONS!
The 2015 Art Mall Show starts today. Many of our Murray students are exhibiting their work. The show will be running through next Monday in the Belk Wing of the mall.

Ellie received the following awards from the NC State Science Fair held March 28th at Meredith College:
First Place Junior Earth and Environmental Science
The Promising Young Researcher Award from the NC Science, Math and Technology Education Center
and the Broadcom MASTERS Award
Her project examined the effect of pesticides, fertilizers and sediment loading on the growth of juvenile oysters.

Ms. Hoff, Ms. Lennon, Mr. Long and the
Murray Middle School Science Olympiad Team.
At the Regional Science Olympiad Competition they won 2 trophies and 66 medals! The Falcon team is moving on to the State Olympiad Competitions!
Kudos to Ms. Black and the Murray Middle School Orchestra students who took 9 of the 80 available seats in the
Jr. Eastern Regional Orchestra Auditions in Aberdeen, NC.
They auditioned against more than 200 students from across the region for their orchestra seats. They will participate in the JERO Clinic and perform in Cary, NC.
