  • What Time Does School Start?
School begins promptly at 8:00 am, but children are encouraged to report in time to get settled in by 8:00.  Some buses arrive as early as 7:30.
If your child is tardy, you must come in to the office and sign him or her in.
  • How Do I Call the School?
The school telephone number is 350-2031 or 350-2032. The phones are usually answered by Georgann Smallwood or Brenda Kincaide.
  • How Do I Speak With MY Child's Teacher During the Day?
If you have an emergency, the office staff will help you get in touch with your child's teacher.  if it is not an emergency, you may leave a message with the office staff to have your call returned by the teacher at her convenience.
  • What If My Child Has Medications That He /She Needs to Take During School?
If your child should need medicine (including over-the-counter) during the day, the principal must have the doctor's permission in writing. All medications will be kept in the office.  This is applicable for both short and long term periods.
  • What's For Lunch?
Children can either bring lunch from home or buy a lunch from the school cafeteria.  If your child brings a lunch from home, he/she may buy a drink from the cafeteria.  The school cafeteria offers milk, chocolate milk, and fruit punch. Children may also buy lunch from the cafeteria . After the first week of school, the cafeteria operates an account system for children.
Each student has an account that can be accessed by a numbered card.  You may put money into the account weekly, monthly, or annually.  The cafeteria manager,
Renee Fritz, is available for payments in the cafeteria on Monday and Tuesday.  You may pay by cash or check. You may send the money with your child if you are unable to come to the school.
  • What About Snacks?
Most classrooms have a break time scheduled daily for 15 minutes.  During this time, students may have a snack.  Nutritious snacks rather than sweet snacks are encouraged.  Check with your child's teacher to be sure you know what particular preference is about snacks
  • What About Drop-off in the Morning?
    Bus Riders:

All bus riders will be dropped off from the Canterbury Drive entrance.
    Car Pool/ parents:
Car pool and parents may use either the Cantebury Drive entrance or the Independence Drive entrance.  Please pull up and let the staff assist your child out of the car.  Do not stop in any of the driveways to walk your child in to the school.  Please use one of the parking lots if you will be getting out of the car.
    walkers and bicycle riders:
Bike riders must follow all directions from the crossing guard .  A staff member will be available to assist when crossing the driveways on the school grounds. Please walk bicycles onto the grounds and watch carefully for cars coming and going.  A path in the woods near the mobile classrooms is the safest way to get to the bike racks. Please do not cut across the parking lot.  Bike riders must wear helmets.
  • Afternoon Pick-up
Please let your child's classroom teacher know your plans for your child's pick-up. The children are grouped in the classroom according to their mode of transportation.
  • Bus Riders are dismissed from the classroom first to meet their bus.  Staff members will assist your child to the bus.
  • Van riders-Children being picked up by an after school program gather with staff members to await the arrival of their buses.
  • Carpools and parent pick up children gather on the porch on the Cantebury Drive side of the building. Parents are encouraged to form two lines coming up the center drive to pick up children.  Please do not get out of your car to assist in the process. Adequate staff is provided for the safe delivery of your child to your car. You may  pick up your child from either side of the driveway.
  • Walkers and bike riders are escorted by staff to the sidewalk as a group.  Children crossing Independence Blvd. are escorted across driveways to the crossing guard.

Always be on the lookout for our children! We want to keep all of our children as safe as possible
